RATIO ARTIS & OCTAGON at TOKYO JAZZ CLUB

Octagon (Milan) and Ratio Artis (Venice) are pleased to announce their participation in the inaugural edition of TOKYO JAZZ CLUB, a temporary cultural project taking place in Tokyo, from November 1st to November 8th, 2026 (preview on October 30, on invitation). The event unfolds across all eight floors of a former capsule hotel in Kanda-Nishikicho, near the historic book district of Jimbōchō.

For TOKYO JAZZ CLUB we are excited to jointly present a selection of artworks by Jacques Duboux (1982, Lausanne) and Lisa Ponti (1922, Milan).

Their work revolves around the notion of the sign, understood as a symbolic form capable of evoking meanings, relationships and invisible dimensions. In Ponti’s drawings, the essential, spontaneous line conveys emotional and imaginative complexity, emerging precisely from the simplicity of the gesture. In Duboux’s drawings, signs, glyphs and hybrid forms bring disparate fragments into relation, creating compositions poised between abstraction, intimate familiarity, and mythological iconography.
